211 Northeast Region

211 was designed to strengthen the health and human service information and referral provider network in Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Hamilton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren and Washington. counties through advocacy, coordination, and education. 211 connects individuals with resources that can help such as information on emergency food and shelter, services for families and senior citizens, health care, childcare, services for people with disabilities, counseling and mental health services, and more. ​

Capital Region VITA

The Capital Region VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program helps working families keep more of their paycheck and move toward financial security by providing FREE tax preparation at dozens of sites across the Capital Region by IRS-certified volunteers. These tax appointments provide opportunities to start conversations and make referrals to help economically challenged families with budgeting, saving, paying down debt and establishing long-term financial goals.​

Summer Meals

United Way’s Summer Meals Collaborative ensures that children and teens have access to free, nutritious meals when school is out. By partnering with local schools, community organizations, and volunteers, the program helps bridge the summer hunger gap so kids can stay healthy, active, and ready to learn.

FamilyWize Prescription Savings

United Way partners with FamilyWize to help community members access affordable prescription medications, supporting better health and financial stability. The free FamilyWize Prescription Savings Card can be used at major pharmacies nationwide to save an average of 45% on FDA-approved medications. There are no registration or eligibility requirements—simply show the card each time you fill a prescription to get the lowest available price.
